Effects of Plant Growth Regulators on Change of Petal Colors in Cut Flowers of Rosa hybrida L . cv . Red Sandra

Abstract
This experiment was carried out to know the response of petal colors, chlorophyll contents by the treatment of four kinds of growth regulators (IAA, GA, BA, ethephon) in cut rose flowers (cv. Red Sandra). All preservative solutions with and without growth regulators ranging from 2.8 to 3.7 in the optical densities of flavonoid showed great ornamental value in the panel test. The treatments of BA and IAA added in distilled water showed the similarity. The optimum ratios of tannin to anthocyanin in ornamental value were in 1.0 to 1.4 treated with IAA, BA and GA added 4% sucrose and 200 §·/§¤ 8-HQS. The chlorophyll contents were generally decreased when stored in preservative solution with growth regulators than distilled solution with them. Distilled solutions with GA and BA showed high chlorophyll contents, but they were not significant at 5% level.
